OK, I have given this a great deal of thought and I think it is time to do us both a favour. Nine Baud is a site that I wanted to grow into a tech site but, I have been so hopelessly focused on my other site, Liquidmatrix.org that I have been neglecting this one. As a result I am going to be consolidating Nine Baud into my Liquidmatrix Security Digest feed.
Don’t worry you won’t have to do anything at all. All of the Nine Baud subscribers will be ported over seamlessly. I may very well separate the sites out again later on. But, for now, it makes more sense to roll up NB. Thanks to all of our readers and I hope that you will continue on with the new feed.
Cheers,
Dave
Not tech news but, news that caught me off guard. Did anyone else think that he was alive? News to me.
Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin has died at the age of 76, the Kremlin said on Monday.
Yeltsin, who had suffered health problems since resigning from office on December 31, 1999, suffered sudden heart failure, medical sources told Russia’s Interfax news agency.
The Kremlin said his funeral would take place amid a day of national mourning on Wednesday, The Associated Press reported.
Yeltsin became the first democratically elected president of Russia in 1991 and two months later put down a coup attempt against Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.
Well, what do you know?

Viacom said yesterday that it picked Yahoo as its online advertising partner in a multi-year deal that could help Yahoo become a more formidable challenger to Google — Viacom’s opponent in a legal squabble over video copyrights.
Small text-based ads will appear next to search results and other relevant content on 33 Web sites owned by Viacom, including MTV.com, VH1.com, ComedyCentral.com, Nickelodeon.com and BET.com. The deal is a victory for Yahoo, which has been losing ground to Google in the online advertising business.
The P2P community is pissed. Super pissed in fact as BitTorrent has announced that it has purchased the company that authored uTorrent. This on the heels of the announcement that BitTorrent will partner with various large media houses to provide access to content. Here is a sampling of the reactions…
This is a fucking disgrace. Bram has made deals with various film companies and such just to make a buck from them. And to be honest with out “illegal” downloading bittorrent wouldn’t be what it is today. So Bram if you fuck this up it’s your ass that shits on this community.
and
back to bit comet for me… too bad, utorrent used to be a great application.
and the pervasive
this sucks
The free ride looks like it is coming to an end.
